The promised call that never came
The endless wait, all in vain
Measuring the distance she said she'd cover
Giving a landmark for him to discover
He searched for the place in that area vast
He covered the distance slow and fast
For her to be given just one more chance
Going from being sad to aghast
The promised call that never came
Seasons passed, summer and rain
He still waited around that old phone
People said he's suffering from some syndrome
He didn't know how to wait anymore
Sit beside the phone or at the door
Seasons have been harsh, time was cruel
The endless wait was his only fuel
He wasn't sure if he should wait
Or leave everything to his fate
But he knew he needed more
Something to look forward to
Something to live for
Nyc :)
